Just updating to point out my logo in the header. The words became pixelated when I resized it, so I'll go back and tweak it in a few days. I'm working to improve my logo designs, and I know I need more practice.

Why wouldn't Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty be friends? Uncle Sam represents the nanny state that wants to give people free stuff and take care of everyone. Lady Liberty wants to stay independent.

This is the picture I'm using for my avatar, done in Illustrator. I used two different backgrounds; the first was drawn directly into Illustrator and the second was a photograph (which I took) that I ran through live trace and pasted behind the foreground.

I sketched these birds from photographs a few years ago, and this year I pulled out the sketch to use as practice in Illustrator. I used the live trace option, so it still has a sketchy look.

I realized the ice cream cone looks kind of like a torch so I did one of these in Illustrator.

I might as well post the rest of my Flub's designs. I wanted to see what they would look like on t-shirts. Here they are in the order I created them. By the fifth one I had finally mastered gradients.

Done in Illustrator in August of this year. I started all my Flub's designs with the photo on their website.

Billboard Contest Entry

This is a billboard design for a contest. I never got to see the winner. The radio station has since been lost in the shuffle that has been going on for two years in this area.

This is my masterpiece, not in terms of creativity but in terms of craft and precision. It remains my most photorealistic oil painting and was displayed in the DAAP gallery in downtown Cincinnati in 2005. I do not own all the rights to this image because this is a painting of a magazine photo; unfortunately I don't know who the photographer was so I can't give credit.

This photo of the painting doesn't quite do it justice because of the glare on the darker areas. Someday I should photograph it in better light.

BTW, it's a chicken, not a turkey.

Acrylic on paper. This one is even older than the self-portrait. Does anyone else remember purple M&M's? They tried them out for about a year. And it wasn't just the minis.

Anyone remember tan M&M's? I miss them. Though I suppose you could special order them.

M&M's are a registered trademark of Mars.
